Rama Holy Basil, or Tulsi is the most common variety, known for its cooling and mellow flavour.

A member of the mint family it features green leaves, a purple stem and white/purple blossoms. Cultivated in India and known for its cooling and mellow flavour it is often steeped on its own or blended into herbal infusions.

Next to the Lotus, Holy Basil is perhaps the most sacred plant of India. Known for its beneficial properties it is commonly employed in Ayurvedic medicine.

Its diaphorectic, febrifuge properties provide assistance with colds, flus and lung problems. Can be used externally for fungal infections.
